2018 Maserati Levante | History of Levante | Mission, TX

The Maserati Levante SUV is a relative newcomer to the Maserati lineup, but in the past few years, it has found tremendous success. The Levante midsize crossover SUV was based on the Kubang concept car, which first made an appearance at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany. Despite the concept’s initial debut in 2011, the actual Levante SUV did not enter into production until 2016, going on sale in Europe in the spring of that year and reaching dealerships here in the United States by September of 2016.

A surprising success

As the first SUV from Maserati, many critics had their doubts about how the Levante would perform when it joined the automaker’s lineup. However, the Levante, which Maserati has charmingly dubbed the “Maserati of SUVs,” has been enormously successful in a segment that continues to heat up.

The Maserati Levante competes directly with vehicles like the Porsche Cayenne and the Range Rover.

Current Maserati Levante

The Maserati Levante SUV is all about luxury, and that means convenience and comfort. Among its convenience and comfort features are remote start, a hands-free power trunk with kick sensor, four-zone climate control, a heated leather sport steering wheel, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

The advanced Maserati Touch Control Plus 8.4-inch multi-touch-screen display with center console rotary control features Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration and Bluetooth® connectivity.
